Aging can be a splendid journey for some, taking on a classic appeal akin to a fine wine maturing over time. Among the elites who seem to have this aging trick down to an art is the wellness idol, Gwyneth Paltrow. With radiant skin and an enviable fitness level even at 50, Paltrow’s secret lies in her dedication to a lifestyle that emanates health and wellness.

Skincare

Many are familiar with Paltrow’s venture, goop which started off in 2008 as a weekly newsletter. It has since grown into a sought-after lifestyle brand offering wellness advice, healthy recipes, travel insights, and natural beauty products among other things. Paltrow revealed on goop her strategy for retaining her youthful, glowing look: “My strategy is skin care. I love the confidence I feel when my skin’s in great shape. In general, I think most skin looks its prettiest naked and makeup-free.”

Some of the star’s beloved products to attain a striking, hydrated skin include GOOPGLOW Dark Spot Exfoliating Sleep Milk, touted as her “magic” for sun damage, GOOPGLOW Microderm Instant Glow Exfoliator, and GOOPGLOW 20% Vitamin C + Hyaluronic Acid Glow Serum. A glance at her Instagram page is enough to attest to the effectiveness of her strategies in maintaining a radiant appearance at 50.

Yoga

On her Instagram page, the star has also been seen performing yoga, clad in snug leggings, a stylish sports bra, and Copper Fit gripper socks and compression gloves. She flawlessly executes a yoga flow outdoors by the ocean, sending soothing vibes to her mesmerized followers. “Yoga keeps me strong and balanced. It keeps me focused,” she explains.

“I started yoga when I was 25 years old, and it totally transformed my body and mind. I am grateful for the foundation I’ve built over the years, but it’s important to have some grace around the aging of your body, to be forgiving,” Paltrow expresses in a candid Instagram caption.

Apart from yoga, Paltrow’s lifestyle routine includes a rigorous fitness regimen that has contributed to her ultra-fit appearance for more than 15 years. She shared on Instagram, “Please ignore my RBF [resting bitch face] while working out but please do check out the marvellous @tracyandersonmethod and swipe up to check out her online studio (I love it) … This lady has been keeping me healthy for fifteen years!!! But it’s still really hard. #TAMILY for life.”

Women’s Health Magazine reveals that Paltrow’s workout routine typically comprises dance cardio combined with small, repetitive movements focusing on her glutes and core, and includes low-weight dumbbell exercises.

Health and Wellness

Paltrow’s approach to health and wellness rests on four pillars: diet, exercise, self-care, and rest. Her exercise regimen, executed alongside celebrity trainer Tracy Anderson, includes 45 minutes each of cardio and muscular structure training five days a week. “I do 45 minutes of cardio five days a week, because I like to eat. I also try for 45 minutes of muscular structure work, which is toning, realigning, and lengthening. If I’m prepping for something or I’ve been eating a lot of pie, I do two hours a day, six days a week for two weeks,” she shares with Self.

Hydration

Paltrow usually begins her morning with hydration, drinking two large glasses of water, then settling into her emails and news updates with her coffee. Pre-workout, Paltrow also fuels up on a large serving of water and two packets of GoopGlow Morning Skin Superpowder, rich in vitamins E and C.

Nutrition

Paltrow’s nourishment plan includes consuming an abundance of vegetables and “good proteins.” “I just try to eat pretty clean during the day. Good proteins and lots of vegetables and not too much grain or sugar, and nothing baked,” she shared with Shape via Marie Claire Australia. Her breakfast, if she chooses to have one, often consists of a morning smoothie made from almond milk, coconut oil, vanilla mushroom protein powder, and Moon Juice dust.

Cleanses

And last but not least, Paltrow believes in periodic cleanses. These vary from a one-day gallbladder flush fast to a seven-week detox. “So I’ve basically tried everything … It’s great for eliminating bloat and firming your skin, and just feeling your best,” she shares. Paltrow also spoke about a unique “Goat’s Milk Cleanse” that she tried, saying “I just tried a goat milk cleanse for eight days to rid my system of parasites… I felt so good after it” (via Marie Claire). So, if you’re seeking an ageless glow and fit form, following in Paltrow’s wellness footsteps could be your guide to thriving amid the twists and turns of aging.
